All Saint's Day
November 1st is All Saint's Day where we remember and honor all the saints, known and unknown.
A saint is "a person sanctified; a holy or godly person; one eminent for piety and virtue; any true Christian as being redeemed and consecrated by God." However, there are many saints who have been canonized by the church, e.g. St. Francis of Assisi, St. Patrick, St. Nicolas, etc.
In many European countries candles are lit to honor the saints and loved ones who have gone before them. Here are a few candle crafts to do for All Saint's Day:
